Hello Creative Friends,
I picked up some of the Mary Engelbreit chipboard teapot books in the Michaels dollar-bins not too long ago. I finally finished one–well actually I think it had more pages but I only did four. I bought a few of them and took them apart so I’m not really sure how many pages they actually had to begin with. Of course four was plenty for me at one time. At first I kept agonizing over that little leaf top to them wondering what to do with it. Finally I just ignored it on all of the pages.
My tea poems and sayings are all just computer generated. I used some of my favorite fonts (Ladybug, Amelie, and Monika). I went around the edges of all the pages with some silver shimmer paint. It kind of looks just flat gray in the photos but it’s really so shimmery looking in person.
I covered the pages with patterned paper and then used some chipboard pieces, various punches, buttons, and ribbons to decorate with. There was a little hole at the top of the pages for the binder ring to go through. I covered that with paper and put my ring through the handle. I wanted it to be more like a book and open and close from the side instead of from the top.
I’m going to put my teapot book with a box of flavored teas for a gift. I found my tea sayings over at The Malt Shop.
Have a creative day!
