Handstamped Card

Hello Creative Friends,
Can’t believe another week has flown by and we are starting another one.  This whole year seems to be going so fast.   Life itself seems to be going at such a speed I can’t keep up.  My daughter Tara graduates this week from 8th grade so it will be a busy week for us.

Today I’m sharing my last card for the Verve Sketch Challenge for May.  This was a CAS (Clean and Simple) sketch.  For my image I chose one of the Verve Plain Jane stamps called Amazing Grace.  I’m not much for larger stamp sets as I usually only end up using one or two of them when I have a large set anyway so the individual Plain Janes are perfect for me.

For this card I used some Spring Feast paper from 1st Edition (found that awhile back at Hobby Lobby).  The cardstock is Stampin’ Up! in Pool Party and that’s the same color of ink I used for the stamped image.  I put a little faux stitching along the edges for detail.  If you click on the image you can see the stamped image a little clearer.

Hope you have a wonderful week,

Hello Friends,
I’m at Week #4 for the Verve Sketch Challenge for May.  Yeah!  I finally finished another card.  I really do love this sketch.  I used my new Verve Small Celebrations stamp set for this card.  I’m enjoying this set because it has several sentiments which I can change out for the circle frame.  I used some of the Tim Holtz distress ink on my stamped images.

I dug out some paper from one of my old K&Company Paper pads and used some Rose Red cardstock and ribbon which I found on the Stampin’ Up! Clearance rack.  I always loved that color of theirs.  Thought it was a perfect match for my paper.   By the way, I got my new Stampin’ UP! catalog in the mail this past week and I just love some of their new items for paper piercing.  Can’t wait until June when you can actually order out of it.  I haven’t been a SU demo for a few years but I still like their cardstock and like getting a few other things from there.  Their catalogs have lots of project ideas so that’s why I like pouring over it.  It’s what I’ve been taking with me this week while I wait to pick my daughter up at school.  If you need your own catalog, go see Patty.

Well, I have a lot to do today so I”m off to get some things done.  Hope you all have a beautiful and creative day.

Hello Creative Friends,

Here’s my entry for the Viva La Verve Week #2 Challenge.   I love this verse and stamp.  This is one of those weeks where I should really sit back and do what that verse says.

I used some K&Company scrapbook paper and embellished with some crochet trim, pearls, ribbon, and a button.  I really wish the photo would have captured how vibrant the scrapbook paper is that I used.  I tried taking it in different light, etc., etc., but finally gave up.  The burgundy center of the flowers and the green leaves are really so pretty and I wish that would have showed up more.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Hello Creative Friends,
Today I’m sharing a coffee themed card.  I had been trying to find a more feminine shaped coffee mug template than what I’d seen around the web and I finally found a teacup one that I stretched and adjusted a little bit so I could turn it into the coffee mug I wanted.  I wanted it suitable for a woman and almost every cup template I could find screamed, “dad” mug.

I’ve been saving a particular piece out of my October Afternoon Thrift Shop paper pad to do this project with when I found the right mug template.  Yes!  I do have other paper but I keep being drawn to this particular pad.

I edged a little black ink around the entire card just to give it a little definition.  I added a little punch work from one of my Martha Stewart border punches and some brads to make my cup have a little decorative detail.  The sentiment is from the Delightful & Delicious Verve stamp set.   Thanks to Chia’s Rubber Stamp Act  for the teacup template!  She has lots of fun templates so be sure to check those out too.

Note:
I added in some resources to my blog for you.
