Friends 24-7

Hello Creative Friends,

I needed to do a birthday card this week and this is what I came up with.  I know I use this bird stamp a lot from the Friends 24-7 (Stampin’ Up!), but it’s so nice to do those quick things that you don’t have to really fill in or anything.  Plus I love making that bird in different colors.  He always has a brand new look.

I pulled out some of my Raspberry Tart paper (Stampin’ Up!).  Loved that one.  Added a mini envelope from a die-cut to put in my  tag that I made.  I made the tag pretty simple with no hard embellishments so it could be used as  a bookmark.

In My Craft Basket:

Stamps:  Stampin’ Up!:  Friends 24-7
Ink: Stampin’ Up! Classic
Paper:  Stampin’ Up! Raspberry Tart

Card Stock:  SU Old Olive, Whisper White,
Tools/Accessories:   Button, Crochet Thread, Martha Stewart
Cornice Punch,
Extra Lg. Fancy Flower Punch, 5-Petal Punch, , Ribbon, Grommet,
Stampin’ Up! Scalloped Envelope Die

Hello Creative Friends,
I’ve seen these easel cards all over and had to try one.   I used the easel card directions at Splitcoast and adjusted the  size.  For this I dug out one of my favorite stamp sets, Friends 24-7 (Stampin’ Up!).

I wanted to give it just a little vintage touch  so I chose some K&Company paper from my stash that I thought would work and used a little distress ink on the edges of the image.  I purposely left the bird image all one color and didn’t fill in the branch.

I used a brad for my card “stop” and some pearls, flowers, and satin ribbon to decorate with.  The flowers and leaves are made with Sizzix Sizzlit dies.

These cards do fold up to put in envelopes (you may want to pad them to mail because of what you choose for your “stop” embellishment but I always have cards that need padded to mail).  I know it’s hard to see the true color of the card stock base but it’s Papertrey’s Scarlet Jewel, which I think is so pretty.

I brought my ‘fridge’ page over to my new blog.  Of course when you move you have to bring your appliances with you! Ha!
