Hello Creative Friends,
Sharing an idea today to hold an Accessory Swap for a women’s ministry meeting. We all have accessories we collect, were given as gifts, bought and thought we’d like and never wear. I have lots of things like that myself. Why not choose one to wrap up and bring to an Accessory Swap so someone else can take it off your hands? They might really love it more than you do and might even actually use it.
Tell the ladies in your women’s group to bring in one wrapped gift of one of their scarves, hats, jewelry, purses, gloves, belts, or any ladies accessory they can think of. You should tell them all to make sure their items are in good condition. If it’s junk–throw it out. Don’t bring it to the Swap:)
Plan out a fun time of sharing and you’ll all be in for a good time. Exchange the gifts by assigning them numbers or exchange in anyway you wish.

This is one of the best websites I’ve found for ideas for a women’s group! We are planning a one night retreat for our Christian Women’s group the very last Friday in November, as the Christmas season begins, and it’s difficult to find material for such a short event. I LOVE your ideaas. I am an avid scrapbooker, and always try to include something that the ladies can make to take home as a reminder of the spiritual bond that we have and the good times we share. Thank you very much for sharing your talents with us!
our ladies mininsty has been together about 4 years we have never done a retreat. could you tell me what the retreat is all about and what are some things that you do at a retreat. thank you so much wanda
Hi Wanda, Usually a woman’s retreat is just a ladies get together that’s a little more detailed than a regular one. You can plan them to be an all day event or even last a few days with various sessions and workshops. Sometimes infusing skits, ice-breakers, etc. You can have one special speaker for main sessions or various speakers. You can have it just for your own church ladies or even invite the ladies of other nearby churches. I know our church has even went to a camp and roughed it for a two day retreat before. For retreats, most churches charge a fee for attendance so that they are able to serve a meal or snacks, and be able to handle any expenses. I have used “Chocolate & Friends” theme for a Fun & Fellowship with ladies from all other churches in the community. It was a real sucess with 95 in attendance & most left asking when our next one would be held.
I am planning a Christmas fellowship “Gingerbread Girlfriend Night Out ” . I will keep you posted as to how it goes. This will be the test…maybe it was the chocolate!!!
