3-2-1 Cake With Printable Labels

Hello Creative Friends,
I’ve seen this 3-2-1 Cake floating all around the web.  I guess everyone knew about it but me:)  Anyways, I thought it was a fun idea and had to try it out.  The recipe makes individual cakes using any flavor of cake mix.  I made a batch of Spice Mix and Pineapple Mix.

Here’s the recipe.

Ingredients:
1 Box of Angel Food Cake Mix
1 Box of Any Flavor Cake Mix

Wisk the two mixes throughly together and place in an airtight container.

Directions for Individual Cakes:
Place in 3 Tablespoons of the Mix in a microwave safe container.
Stir in 2 Tablespoons of Water.
Microwave 1 Minute.

Tips:
Use a mug or a ramekin works well.
Mix the water gently but thoroughly with the mix or you will end up with powdered dry spots.
Let stand for about 10 minutes before serving.
If you have a low watt microwave where everything takes a little longer, add 10 to 15 seconds.  ( I had to add 15 to mine.  You know your microwave best.)
Garnish with whipped cream and (or) fruit.

I recycled some Smuckers jelly jars so I could give some of the mix away.

I made labels for my jars and added a cloth circle to the lid with ribbon.
For my Spice Mix I used an orange label and a yellow one on my Pineapple Mix.

I have some labels to share with you.  I had thought about doing a strawberry mix so there is a pink label too.  Just click on the label you want to save or print.  If you print them on cardstock, you can punch the corner and turn them into hang tags to put on with string or ribbon.  They are in pdf format.

These did taste pretty good and I think it’s great to make just one piece of cake instead of having a whole cake in the kitchen to tempt me.  I wanted to try it with Sugar Free Cake Mixes but I couldn’t find any at the store.  Sometimes they carry the regular ones but not all the time and only in a couple flavors.   I haven’t seen the Angel Food one in sugar free anywhere yet.
