Hello Friends,
Around here we have some strawberry fields where they have roadside fruit stands.  We stopped the other day and got some strawberries so we’ve been eating them all weekend.  They are so sweet and yummy!  I’ve made strawberry shortcake but my favorite is just eating them plain.

These strawberries were at a very good price too which made them even sweeter.  I made these Strawberry Lemonade Bars a few weeks ago and had to pay way over what I wanted for just a little package of strawberries at the grocery store.  The bars were really good though.  I took some to my daughters and rest disappeared quickly.

I’ve been asked about summer themes for women’s ministry and I think strawberries would be fun for this.

Here’s some ideas from around the web.

Find some Strawberry Party (from One Charming Party.  Check out the fun garland)

Find more Strawberry Party Ideas. (Glorious Treats)

Serve Strawberry Trifle (The Love of Baking and Crafting), Strawberry Shortcake, or Strawberry Cake in a Jar (Bee in our Bonnet)

Serve Strawberry Punch (Six Sisters Stuff)—I used to have a recipe very similar to this and it was sooooooooo good!

Plain strawberries with whipped cream or some fruit dip (The Yummy Life) would be great as well.

Devotional Idea:
Coming Up Short (Play on Strawberry Shortcake)

Don’t be Short on Patience (Colossians 1:11, 2 Peter 1:5-7)
Don’t be Short on Love (John 15:12, 1 Corinthians 15:1)
Don’t be Short on God’s Word (Colossians 3:16, Psalm 119:11)
Don’t be Short on Encouragement (Ephesians 4:29, Hebrews 10:24)

If you have anything to add for this theme, please leave a comment.

Have a creative day,

There is a cute image of a girl on Mo’s digital pencil shop that is carrying a pail of strawberries, would be sweet to go along with this theme. :)

    Hello.

We will be having a Mother-Daughter Banquet in mid May and are wanting to do a strawberry theme. I am struggling to find a devotion and title to go along with this theme except for the “short”cake part of it. Have you come across anything new for this theme? I have been all over the web and can’t seem to find anything. If you have please let me know. Thank you.

If you are still searching for a strawberry theme idea you could your title could be ” Berry Sweet” and your devotion could have the word sweet in it. Go to bible gateway and enter the word sweet into the search space and several verses will come I like Psalm 119:103. I hope that helps.
