Everything is coming up flowers!
Are you all ready for spring? I am! I am! Today’s Friday Find is really more of a source than a find but we are stretching it to say that it is a find. It’s time for a little spring freshening up so I thought today I’d share my favorite place to purchase fresh flowers. Drum roll please……….the grocery store!
Yep, I find I can get some pretty flowers at the grocery store.
You have to admit, when God made flowers, He did what only God can do and made a little perfection in each variety of them.
The flowers above in the pic I purchased at our local SaveMart but almost every grocery store sells bunches of flowers, normally whatever is in season. Usually you can get bunches in an array of prices. By the way, that large mason jar vase is a find from Marshalls. I only paid $5.99 and that thing is huge! They had smaller sizes too so I got a smaller one as well.
I did add a few camellia stems to the jar to add in some greenery. You may not have camellia bushes but look around your yard. You may have some greenery that you can perk up your flowers with too. Sometimes I use orange tree cuttings. It depends on what kind of flower bunch you pick. Most of the time you don’t really need to add anything.
I used to do a lot of events for women’s ministry and grabbing some flowers from Target or the grocery store was a quick and easy way to create some quick centerpieces on a budget. You can take them apart and put them in bud vases. Quick, easy, inexpensive, and you are done.
Just a bunch arranged in one vase is great too as a larger centerpiece. I used to have Bible studies in my home a lot and I’d run to Target and get a bunch to have on my entry table or kitchen table. Fresh flowers just create such a wonderful atmosphere. They make me happy.
Just a tip…..never just stick the bunch in a vase how they come. Take them apart and lay them out and place them in the vase you are using individually. They will look so much nicer and it adds volume to them.
Okay, where do you like to purchase flowers from? Leave a comment because I’d love to hear. I like Costco flowers too. I know a lot of people get them at Trader Joes but we don’t have one close. It’s 40 minutes away so it’s not easy to just run and grab some, so I stick with our local supermarkets.
If you like to support your local floral shops, I think that’s great, but it’s not always in my budget. Floral shops are left for special occasions in this family.
What are you all up to for the weekend? I’m still working on painting my curio Craigslist find I started last weekend. We’ve had such cold and rainy weather….not good for painting so I’ve held off. The sun is shining today so I’m going to try and get that finished. I have a good start on it though. Getting some bead board to go inside the back. It’s going to be pretty! Hopefully I’ll be able to share it soon.
Have a creative day,

Don’t forget–Today is Day 3 of the “Love Talk” Bible Memory Challenge. Hope you will join in.
Have a creative day,
We are talking love!
I’ve held three memory verse challenges connected with my main website (Creative Ladies Ministry). Starting another one today!. I can’t believe this will make the fourth year I’ve done this. I usually start on the first of February and we finish on Valentine’s Day. I didn’t get started yesterday as I’ve just been really busy and didn’t get it up and going, so we are starting a day late. Sorry about that!
For the first verse (which should have been for yesterday), I gave you an easy one and one that so many of you ladies already know….Proverbs 31:26
She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.
I’ve been kind of picking a theme for these challenges and this year I thought we could all do with a little “Love Talk”. Amid so many people verbalizing so much hate in the world right now, we ought to work on our speech. Don’t ya think! Most of these Bible verses revolve around our tongue in relation to how we speak to others.
The hardest part for me on making up these challenges is narrowing it down to 14 verses! The Bible has so much to say about our speech so this years was particularly hard to narrow down.
Pick up the list of challenge verses to pop onto your refrigerator or bulletin board. I normally write out the verses on these but this time I just listed the reference. You will need to look the verses up in your Bible each day. I hope you will join me and commit them to memory.
Be sure to grab the pdf file and not the image itself.

Hope you will join with me for this year’s challenge. Leave a note here in the comments or comment over on the Creative Ladies Ministry Facebook Page. I’d love to know how many are joining in this year. It’s always a blessing for me to hear from those participating.
Have a creative day,
Meet me at midnight!
I hope you all had a Merry Christmas! My family and I enjoyed ourselves. It’s always fun to sit down and just relax and laugh with my kids.
Takeaway Tuesday has rolled around again. Today I’m sharing one of the easiest New Year’s favors that you can make. Hershey’s Kisses for midnight! There is a free printable tag for them which you can pick up and save to your files.
Just add the tag to a cellophane bag of Hershey’s Kisses to give away some midnight kisses.
I’ve made up a pdf with 12 tags for you. Be sure to grab the file and not the image. I used one of the large oval Stampin’ Up! punches on mine but you can make them square too.
Thanks for stopping in. Be sure to leave me a comment. Love hearing from you!
