Die-Cuts

Hi Creative Friends,
First off, thank you all for your great participation in commenting on the blog posts to help me celebrate my 11th Anniversary online with my CLM Website.  You are all so encouraging!

I noted the winners of the drawings on each day’s posts.  If you won and didn’t receive your downloads or hear from me about getting a mailing address for the ones that need mailed, please make sure you have your email set to receive mail from my domain @juliabettencourt.com  There’s still a few winners I haven’t heard back from.

Yesterday I went to Hobby Lobby and purchased a die for my Big Shot (die cut machine) I wanted.  It was on clearance of course:)  It’s the Sixxiz Take Out Box.  I love it because of all the other little boxes and bag dies that I have, this one will hold more than all of them.  I used a piece of Spring Feast paper from 1st Edition.  Love the designs in that.

I also picked up another embossing folder, Tropical Paisly (on clearance too) so I ran off some flower shapes from the Blossom Party die and embossed those to put on top of my take out box.  I ran of several flower shapes, cut a few slits in between the petals and played around with them to make it look full.  I want to use the box for a little gift.

I have to tell you that I’ve used small take out boxes for my ladies events before and they make a really nice favor.  The ones I got before when I needed a lot (too many to make myself) I ordered from Paper Mart.  The ones I ordered were their  White Wire Handle Take-Out Boxes which they normally have at a good priceThey are plain white so you can add ribbon and decorate them anyway that you want.  So if you need a good source for a lot of favors, Paper Mart is a good place to keep in mind.

If you missed some of the new things that I posted on the website during my 11th Anniversary, I’ve got all the new links posted over on the main page of the website today.

Also I’ve been asked a few times about a dragonfly devotional or theme.   No theme for you, but  I did put up a dragonfly related devotional today.  You know how they have those big eyes!

Find the Eyes Wide Opn Devotional here.

Have a creative day,

#7 Karen C:  The pillow boxes certainly make clever favors. There are so many things that could be included in them, and can be used with many themes. Thank you for your willingness to share again.

Karen, I’ll be emailing you later today to get a mailing address to send the boxes.  (Winner was chosen by random.org) Thanks for participating.

Morning Everyone,
I enjoyed all your comments from yesterday about what you were learning in Sunday School and church.

We are down to the 10th Day of Give Aways to celebrate the 11th Anniversary of my CLM Website.  Hope you will all join in on commenting today.  I am giving away another “crafty” prize but you don’t have to be crafty to make these.

Today I’m giving away to one winner a total of 50 pillow box die cuts made from the Sizzix Pillow Box Die.  The paper I used for these are all in springy color patterns.   Your pillow boxes will come cut-out with the score lines so all you have to do is fold them, add some adhesive, and put them together.  There’s one seam down the side to place adhesive and you can seal up the ends.  A lot of times I don’t seal the ends but put what I want inside, then wrap ribbon from side to side and tie around it so I can skip that step.

Be sure to comment on today’s post (4/30/12) before Midnight to qualify for the give away!

These will come in assorted paper designs.  I used several designs from the 1st Edition Spring Feast Paper Pad.  A photo of that is over to the left to give you an idea.  I didn’t use all of the papers but a majority of them.

These pillow boxes are pretty small and hold just a few candies or a lip balm.  They are 3 inches by 2 inches with a depth of less than 3/4 of an inch.  I’ll send you some of the little butterfly cut-outs (like on the samples) to match your boxes, but there are all kinds of ways to doll these up.  Just go over to Splitcoast Stampers and look in their gallery.

Be sure to stop in tomorrow for the last day of Anniversary Give Aways!

For the give away today I will be choosing one winner from today’s comments and announce the winner here tomorrow.

In order to qualify you must.

Good Saturday Morning Everyone,
It’s the 8th Day of Give Aways in honor of my 11th Anniversary online with my CLM Website.  I’m blessed to have so many of you commenting on the posts.  Thanks for the encouragement.

For today’s Give Away I thought I’d do something along the crafty line as I know a lot of you stop in for that.  I’m giving away 25 purse favor die-cuts (made with the Petite Purse Die from Stampin’ Up!  When it came out I just had to have it.).  They will be assorted designs and will come to you pre-cut and pre-scored.  You will need to use adhesive to adhere them together.  Below is a few samples of how they turn out.  I embellished them with some punch cut-outs and stick on gems.  I’ll enclose some punch cut-outs of tiny flowers and butterflies that you can use as embellishments with your prize.  I will be choosing one winner from today’s comments so be sure to leave one on today’s post.  Post by 12 Midnight (PST) today in order to qualify.

I thought if you have a small ladies group they would work well for favors or they make great door prizes filled with little candies or goodies. Maybe even use for your volunteers and helpers.  Placed in cellophane bags done up with ribbons they look pretty nice.  They are “petite” as in the name and put together they are approximately 2 and 3/4 inches across the bottom at the widest point and only 2 inches tall (not including the handle).

Fun things to put inside this tiny purse:

  • A few wrapped candies
  • Folded up cloth ladies hankie (you can usually get the pretty embroidered ones at the 99 Cent store)
  • Lip balms or lipsticks
  • Key chain
  • Magnet
  • If you leave the flap open, you can place in other things such as a couple teabags, a wrapped cookie, mini tube of handcream, etc.

Here’s a photo of how the purses look when cut out.  The die pre-scores the folds and they only have two tabs that need adhesive plus the handles so they go together in a snap and are so cute.  They have a little slit on the front where the flap tab inserts.  Sorry my photos aren’t better today.  It’s been awhile since I’ve taken pics of projects for my blog and I’m so out of practice and I also don’t have my paint program where I edit installed on this computer yet so I’m finding it difficult to get my photos to look good.

For the give away I will be choosing one winner from today’s comments and announce the winner here tomorrow.

In order to qualify you must.

1.  Comment on this post.   Let me know if you are or are not a “crafty” person:)

Have a beautiful day,

Hello Creative Friends,
Today I’m sharing a little camera box which would be a really fun favor for a scrapbooking event.  You could fill it with all kinds of little embellishments or goodies.  It would even make a fun way to include a digital camera card for a gift.

I used a Sizzix Box #2 die-cut for this but you could use a box template of similar dimensions as well.  This box is approximately 3 3/4 inches wide, 2 inches high, and about 1 1/2 inches in depth.  I used various punches along with some black card stock and some various colored metalic paper to embellish mine.   I added in one rhinestone gem for a spot of bling!  The handle strap is just made with rope put through a grommet on the side of the box.  I used an embossing plate on the larger front panel for a little design.

You can find my Scrapbooking Devotional here.

Have a creative day!

In My Craft Basket:

Stamps:  None
Ink: None
Paper:  DCWV Metallic Pack
Card Stock: Papertrey Ink
Tools/Accessories: Various Punches, Rhinestone Gem, Rope,
Backgrounds I Embossing Plate

Foam mounts were used to give  dimension.
