Sharing an idea today for “A Spoonful of Sugar” Ladies Meeting. I’m sure you all are familiar with that song from Mary Poppins. “Just a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down in a most delightful way“.

You know when we are nicer to people and kinder to people and give that extra ”spoonful of sugar”, things seem to go down better and are a lot smoother. Look what Christ taught in Matthew 5:38-48. Even those people who have issues with us, we are supposed to go the extra mile for. We are to top things off with that extra “sugar” as it were.
“But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you.” Matthew 5:44
I did not write a devotional especially for this theme but I am sharing an outline instead. Feel free to expand upon the points. It’s on the Lesson Handout below. The handout also contains some group discussion questions.

Have a creative day,

It’s time again for another school supply idea to be used for women’s ministry. Today’s tip is using the small individual size white boards at your meetings. These are great especially if you do a lot of games and icebreakers where you have the ladies write down their answers. Nice for multiple choice answers where they just need to write a letter in response to each question.
You can normally get these for $1.00 at the dollar stores. The one in the photo I purchased at Target in their $1.00 bins. They look like notebook paper. Of course you’ll notice I wrote on the back of the pager:) I would probably only recommend using these for small groups under 15 (which is what a lot of you tell me you have) as you will need one for each lady. You will have to purchase the dry erase markers as well so it is a little investment.

These are also great for small size Sunday School kid’s classes. I taught 4-6 grade Sunday School for a lot of years in a few different churches and I know my kids would have loved to use these for the little quizzes and questions I gave them each week about the lessons. It’s kind of neat that you can now get the dry erase markers in all kinds of colors.
Tip: Have someone in charge of cleaning the white boards and recapping the markers tightly after each use before they are put away. These type of markers tend to dry out quickly if they are not capped properly.

I found these whiteboard strips (above) in the Target $1.00 bins too. Thought they’d be fun to write out labels for your food at a Back to School Themed Event. If you are having a small get together, they would serve nicely as name place cards. Use the larger individual size ones for writing out Bible verses or sayings and prop up on your event tables.
Be sure to check out the CLM Back to School Page!

Have a creative day,

Hello Creative Friends,
Some of you mentioned to me that you’d like some ideas for a Olympic Ladies Meeting Theme. I thought I’d share a few things with you to get you started and you can add your comments to the post with your own ideas. Thought we could brainstorm this one together.

Olympic Cookie Rings from The Decorated Cookie.
First off, here’s what I have:
Alternative Theme Titles:
- More Than Gold
- Go for the Gold
- Pass the Torch
- Run the Race
- Join the Team
Theme Verse Suggestions:
- “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith “ 2 Timothy 4:7
- “Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.” 1 Corinthians 9:24
- “Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.” Philippians 2:16
- “Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.” Hebrews 12:1
Decorating Ideas:
- Make Olympic Rings. Spray paint hula hoops in the Olympic colors and hot glue together.
- Use trophies for the tables. They carry small ones at the dollar store (in the party supply section) which you could add into floral arrangements.
- Gold tissue paper sticking out of glasses/cups to simulate torches.
- Winner medals hung around napkins.
- Flags from different countries in floral arrangements.
Just for Fun:
- Hold your event during the Olympics and set the time in order to watch one of the events together as a ladies group.
Please help me out and add your comments for this theme! Anything from theme titles, decorating, game ideas, favors, food ideas etc.
(Comments do not automatically post. They do need to be approved first, but I would love to hear from you.)
